Do you have a lifelong passion for helping
others? Perhaps you already have experience in the non-medical assistance
field; either way, the professionals from R.G.U.S.,
Inc. would love to hear from you. We’re currently hiring homecare aides and
looking for experienced people to help us train new staff members.
To give potential new staff and jobseekers
a better idea of the type of person we’re looking for and the responsibilities
they’ll have, we’ve collected some more information below about our homecare
services and requirements.
What
Type of Person Does it Take to Provide Quality Homecare?
Compassionate
& Understanding
Perhaps you’ve always wanted to become a homecare
aide but aren’t sure what type of qualities are needed. Providing homecare
services isn’t always easy, so the ideal candidate would be someone who is
patient, understanding and always willing to help.
A
Motivated Worker
Being one of the homecare aides from
R.G.U.S., Inc. means more than simply helping provide non-medical care for the
elderly or those with special needs: it also requires you to be a motivated
person who’s ready to work. Homecare aides assist with chores such as light cleaning,
meal planning and shopping, assisting with eating, bathing, and dressing, in
addition to providing companionship.
A few of the most common duties performed
by our homecare aides include providing
medication reminders, helping out with the shopping and meal preparation, helping
plan weekly food menus, and doing laundry, as well as providing transportation
when needed.
Here’s a brief breakdown of some of the
duties you may be responsible for performing throughout the day, as well as why
they’re so important to our clients:
Tidying Up:
For clients with limited mobility, even doing the dishes can be a
difficult chore, which is why homecare aides are expected to help tidy up
during the day. Having a helping hand around the house makes things much easier
on families and those who’ve chosen to age in place.
Providing Rides:
For those with special needs or limited mobility, getting around can
be tough, especially if they have to go across town for a doctor’s appointment.
Our homecare aides are prepared to provide transportation services and have
vehicles at their disposal.
Visiting the Grocery
Store:
Everybody needs to eat, especially those with special needs or
clients that have chosen to remain at home and age in place. A healthy diet is
paramount, which is why homecare aides are often tasked with visiting the
grocery store and picking up food items to help prepare healthy meals.
Washing Clothes &
Linens:
Providing clean linens and clothing to those who are homebound is
essential for both their comfort, as well as their hygiene. For this reason,
the homecare aides from R.G.U.S., Inc. will be expected to change bed linens
and wash clothes on a regular basis to ensure a sanitary environment and that
our clients are comfortable at home.
Meal Preparation &
Cooking:
You don’t have to be a top chef or a gourmand to be a great homecare
aide, but you will need to prepare meals and craft healthy menus for our
clients. Eating right and staying hydrated is especially important for those
with special needs. Many without the right care can fall into bad habits, such
as eating too many salty snacks or frequently ordering out. Our homecare aides help ensure every one of
those we care for has healthy, home-cooked meals.
